Shrink Plastic DIY

Hi my friends,

Today I will be showing you how to make shrink plastic ornaments. The only things you need are:

  • Shrink plastic (my mom bought it online)
  • Colored pencils
  • A pencil ✏️ (and eraser…)
  • A scissors ✂️
  • Templates of your motiv (optional)

Firstly you take your shrink plastic and a template and trace it onto the rough side of the plastic. Here you can see my cupcake:

Secondly you color it in with your colored pencils. Then you cut it out with your scissors. That’s the result I got…

If you want it to be a keychain you should whole punch it now, because it is easier now then after it is baked.

Now you have to turn your oven on 160 degrees.

Lastly you put your shrink plastic figure into the oven for 1-2 minutes (rough side up). You will see when it is ready, because it first crumbles up and then it flattens again. Now you can take it out of the oven and let it cool down. If you punched the plastic you can finally put your keychain on.

See my video below for further instruction:

I have created a variety of shrink plastic items in the last weeks, because it’s so easy to make and so rewarding to see what you get back! Even the school time table which is on the image above. I put it on my pencil case…
I will be happy if you make your own shrink plastic DIYs and send me some pictures  in my comments section!

I hope you liked my blog post! If yes like it!

Bye  👋
